What is a semi-structured interview?
An interview that has no set questions
An interview in which respondents have to choose the answer to a question from a set of possible answers
An interview in which the same open-ended questions are asked to all respondents
What is a focus group?
A group of people who are focused on achieving a goal
A small group of people who are asked open-ended questions in order for them to convey their thoughts or feelings
A large group of people who are asked open-ended questions in order for them to convey their thoughts or feelings
What is a random sample?
A sample in which each person has an equal chance of being selected
A sample in which some people are more likely to be selected than others
A sample which the researcher has selected as they believe that the people they have selected will give them the information that they require
What does generalisability mean?
The sample selected will produce information that is representative of the population
The sample contains people from different backgrounds, ages and ethnicities
The sample is not small
How do you calculate a mean value?
Place the values in chronological order and select the value in the middle
Identify the most popular occurrence of a value
Add up all of the values and divide by the number of values
